Beach Haven — The 2019 summer season will bring two new rides to Fantasy Island Amusement Park in Beach Haven: a teacup ride with a beachy twist and an 80-foot sky tower that resembles Long Beach Island’s Barnegat Lighthouse. Guests to the park also will enjoy a renovated ice cream shop, upgraded restrooms and a front area featuring new boardwalk game pavilions and a more open and welcoming park entrance. The additions and upgrades will all become available over the course of the summer.

“Fantasy Island’s new rides and enhancements will elevate the guest’s experience while preserving the soul of the park,” said Brian Wainwright, CEO. “What better way to cap off a day on the Island than with a spin in a teacup that reminds you of the beach, a drop from a tower that looks like the Barnegat Lighthouse, and a visit to our new ice cream shop?”

He said Fantasy Island’s new teacup ride has a custom design that features beach balls, surfboards and local beach badges, and the new SkyTower ride tops the height of the park’s previous tower, Drop Zone, by 30 feet. Following a complete overhaul, the park’s ice cream shop will feature ice cream from Thomas Sweet as well as Hershey. Guests will also find new menu items, such as fun milkshakes served in Fantasy Island souvenir mason jars.

“As we enhance the park over the course of the summer, we will ensure that Fantasy Island retains all its beauty, traditions and nostalgia,” said Wainwright. “We can’t wait to start the season and see our guests making brand new memories this summer!”

Park rides and outdoor games will be open weekends beginning Saturday, May 18, and daily beginning Friday, June 14. The arcade is currently open weekends and will be open daily beginning Thursday, May 16.
